Marconi Radio Factory, Chelmsford, CM2

The former Marconi Wireless Radio Factory, Hall Street has now been completed, with all units sold.

Acquired in 2014, this landmark building occupies an important place in Chelmsford’s history. Hall Street is widely recognised as the birthplace of radio, with the world’s first Marconi wireless radio factory established within this building in 1898.

The scheme delivered an exclusive collection of eight two-bedroom residential apartments, carefully designed to preserve the building’s industrial heritage while creating high-quality contemporary homes.

Many original features were retained throughout, including exposed brickwork and impressive high vaulted ceilings, giving each apartment a distinctive character and sense of history.
